Hearing screenings:
Hearing screening is necessary to take the proper test of your hearing to avoid any big problem such as hearing loss. It’s a quick test to know your hearing and understanding of speech. Hearing and brain connects where a person who can’t hear clearly, can’t understand anything, and become dumb in society.
Therefore, it is essential to go for hearing screenings as it consists of a range of beeps or pitches at a limitation of the normal range to comprehend if you are able to apprehend them or not.
Audiologists take hearing tests to check your ability to hear and take the test for half an hour. If a person is able to hear everything and no signs appear of hearing loss, he doesn’t need any treatment for daily life.
If you are unable to hear what an audiologist says, he would detect the very first sign of a hearing problem and proceed to check your hearing through other manifestations.
Hearing levels:
Different hearing levels range differently, so let’s have a look at all the degree of hearing loss range (dB HL)
Normal –10 to 15
Slight- 16 to 25
Mild- 26 to 40
Moderate- 41 to 55
Moderately severe- 56 to 70
Severe- 71 to 90
Profound- 91+
These levels predict the type of hearing loss and its severity. They indicate how noisy voices are acceptable and how high-pitched sounds are understandable.
A good hearing level needs no diagnosis and treatment whereas, a slight or a mild range needs better prevention to not go to severe levels.
A person needs a hearing aid if his test shows his Moderate or severely moderate condition. A hearing aid will operate by amplifying the sound waves. It will transform them into a digital signal. But a person with severe or profound analysis must undergo proper diagnosis, treatments, preventions, and if still incurable, cochlear implants might help.
The hearing level would help to rank the condition after hearing tests or screenings.
